Our Philosophy of Technology

We view technology as a valuable tool for learning, creativity, and growth. In today’s digital world, students must develop both digital skills and responsible habits. We emphasize thoughtful, balanced use of technology to support academic success and prepare students to engage ethically and meaningfully in a connected world.

Technology in the Classroom

SVA equips students with the tools and skills needed for success in a digital age. Teachers incorporate current technologies in ways that enhance instruction and encourage engagement.

Students use technology to:

  • Research topics for projects and papers
  • Collaborate on group work using digital platforms
  • Present their learning through multimedia tools

With over 115 computers in five labs and 60 Chromebooks available, students have ample access to technology for learning and collaboration.

Cell Phones & Personal Devices

We encourage students to be creators, not consumers. To support focused learning and healthy development, personal smartphones are not permitted on campus. Instead, students may use Gabb phones, which allow basic communication without access to internet browsing or social media. Learn more at gabb.com.
